Khaiji Asian Fusion Bistro

Heads up people from the south. There is this restaurant along Aguirre Avenue right beside O'smile, which is rich in history and serves delicious Asian fusion food. I know because I experienced their food last week.

Khaiji, a word derived from a play of two Chinese words meaning lucky, was formerly known as South Dynasty in the 80s and 90s. A family business, it was my friend's parents who started South Dynasty while her grandparents owned the retail store O'smile just adjacent to the restaurant.

Last week, I tried the following dishes.

Special Crispy Fried Canton P300
Truth be told, I am not really a fan of Crispy Pansit in general. It does not excite me. I would rather enjoy a plateful of the traditional pancit than have it deep-fried then slathered with sauce. This version of Khaiji though made a convert of me. Why? Probably because the noodles themselves had that umami flavor, to begin with and the sauce that went with an order of this was simply quite delicious.

Admittedly it was the Pinoy take on the classic Chinese Crispy Pansit. Thus its appeal to me.

Kuapao with Hongma P98

I'm a fan of kuapao and siopao so this was a delightful treat for me. The Hongma or Chinese Soy Sauce Braised Pork had that perfect balance of sweet and savory which I really enjoyed.

Whole Crispy Chicken P385

Frankly, I was amazed how reasonable the pricing was. The whole look of the dish is the traditional one with shrimp crackers often served at Chinese restaurants.

Frozen Homemade Longganisa Hamonado P195

Sadly I was not able to take a solo shot of  the cooked longga. I simply forgot when the piggery went on an attack mode when the plate landed on the table haha. The aroma was simply drool worthy. Before I know it the 5  pcs were wiped out in no time. Good thing I was able to take a bite. It was  meaty, savory , sweet and delicious.  I shall order this again.

Here are the other items in their menu
