'We are serving primarily mixed Asian cuisine that is home cooking so most of the dishes you will try here are family recipes... mostly Chinese but we are trying to steer away from just Chinese so we have Singaporean noodles... we have Malaysian inspired white chicken so we are doing like a mixed Asian concept' - Patrick Sen , Owner
It was what can be dubbed as gastronomic adventure in Asian food as I found myself gorging on traditional Chinese food in a 51 year old legendary Chinese Restaurant in Quezon City for our first stop followed by a second lunch of Asian fare at Moon Rabbit Cafe in a sprawling compound in San Juan
Moon Rabbit Cafe
'There is a legend about the rabbit on the moon. If you look at the full moon at night you will see the silhouette of a rabbit . For the Chinese, the rabbit symbolizes long life because the rabbit is the assistant for the moon goddess..." - Patrick Sen, Owner

There is something about sprawling space, lofty ceiling, huge sliding doors, floor to ceiling glass windows, wooden floors and huge pendant lights that appeal to me. Moon Rabbit Cafe + Restaurant vibe is so comfy and homey, you feel like your dining in one of your friend's or a close relative's house!
The parking lot is huge and I love that the restaurant is sort of elevated . You have to climb a flight of stairs to reach the patio then open the sliding doors to enter the restaurant inside.
It was like this humongous airy house converted into a restaurant.
The Food
Chicken Claypot Rice P260
Salted Egg Shrimp P340
Crispy Pork Knuckles P280
White Chicken P310
Chilled Tofu P175
Yang Chow Chinese Chorizo P180
Overall, everything looked beautifully presented and pristine. Visualize a beautiful lady with nary a hair out of place.
Each dish that came out of the kitchen last Thursday were scrumptious albeit in smaller-than-Im-used-to portions. My favorites would have to be the tofu, the crispy pork knuckles, the chorizo rice and dried scallops rice, the fish, orange spare ribs, or practically all the dishes served...haha
The coffee cocktail was also a standout for me. Note that every full moon, cocktails are at buy 1 take 1.
Beautiful ambiance, homey vibe, good food, interesting cocktails great location, ample parking... what's not to love?
Definitely returning with the handsome hubby and piggery in tow to check out more of the items on their menu.
Moon Rabbit Cafe + Restaurant is located at 2 Ledesma corner F.Benitez Street San Juan City Metro Manila
