It was the family's first time at Teppan Okochi. An international franchise from Japan, it boasts of ingredients flown directly from the Land of the Rising Sun on a regular basis.
Since the family are all self-proclaimed Japanophiles, Teppan Okochi is one of those Japanese restaurants on our list of must tries in the metro .
It is constantly a joy discovering new eats with the family. And one such dish we truly enjoyed at Teppan Okochi is their huge bowl of unagi with rice along with their uni and fresh nigiris.
The interior is elegant dominated by a huge teppanyaki table on the center. Clearly teppan is their highlight. There are a couple of private dining rooms on the side.
We were seated beside the entrance with a clear view of the teppan table. It was a pleasant place to dine in with unobtrusive but attentive service.
There were Japanese diners when we were there. A good indication at how authentic the restaurant's dish were. At least that's my personal gauge.
Overall, ingredients are of premium quality thus the justification for higher than average pricing.
