Amazing how a seafood-adorned humongous silver bowl from High Street Cafe can put a group of foodies in a frenzy. Nothing like the sight of generous servings of poached bounties from the sea to bring in the holiday spirit.
" They just brought the ocean to us", so exclaimed Jillian Tiffany Go, the bubbly Marketing Executive of Shangrila at the Fort.
Indeed it felt like it when two huge heavy vessels of poached curacha, shrimps, mussels, huge scallops, clams, crab meat , etc landed on our table of 10
'Christmas na' was my first thought as I saw the festive spread of fresh trove from the ocean. Chef Joris Executive Chef of High Street Cafe echoed Tiffany's exclamation as well as described all those fresh goodies for us.
What a delight to just scoop up your choice seafood and eat with your hands. A variety of sauces were provided for us to dip in. I did not need any. The seafood spread were naturally sweet and succulent , it was a joy just eating them as is and savoring their natural flavors. During the buffet you can have them cook any which way you want just tell your server.
