The cheapest Michelin Star Restaurant in the metro just opened its 5th store last week at Ayala Malls by the Bay.
Origins
Hawker Chan was founded by Malaysian Chef Chan Hon Meng, the scion of a farmer, who flew to Singapore in the 80s to train under a Hong Kong Chef. Here he learned to prepare the famous Singapore Soya Sauce Chicken and Noodles.
In 2016, Michelin's Singapore recognized Hawker Chan effectively making it the cheapest Michelin-starred meal in the world.
Currently Hawker Chan's branches are located at SM Mall of Asia, SM City North Edsa, Glorietta 3, Food District Signatures on 5th and this latest one at the ground floor of Ayala Malls by the Bay.
Average cost per person can be anywhere between a low of P128 or a high of P218
