YAKUMI

Yakumi  = spice or condiments

It was a stormy Monday morning when I found myself in a grab enroute to Solaire anew. Never mind the pouring rain, nor the inclement weather. Say Japanese cuisine and I'll just drop everything and go.

Yakumi had been particularly enticing with its reputation for flying in fresh seafood from Japan . Visions of Tsukiji market and our Sushi Dai experience in Tokyo came to mind.

Nothing like perfectly cut and fresh seafood to start  your week.

Teishoku Sets
a traditional Japanese meal served as a complete set that includes a main, soup and rice

Teishoku Sets at Yakumi are available from Monday to Saturday. This is perfect for those who want to give Yakumi a try without breaking the bank.

Last Monday, we tried the following :

Chirashi Sushi Set P980
Sushi rice topped with sashimi
Miso soup
Dessert selection of the day

Ta-ke P1680
Tempura, grilled US beef ribeye, sashimi tuna, salmon, tanige, sweet prawn,
freshly grated wasabi, salmon teriyaki, omelette , steamed rice, miso soup,
 dessert selection of the day

Ume P1,280
Grilled mackerel,  sweet omelette, deep fried chicken, sashimi,
steamed Japanese rice, miso soup and dessert selection of the day.
All meal sets include hot tea and iced tea

Matsu P2,080
Tempura, Chilean sea bass teriyaki, sashimi tuna, salmon, tanige, kampachi,
sweet prawn with freshly grated wasabi, beef roll, sweet omelette,
steamed rice, miso soup, and dessert selection of the day

Tempura Set P1,450
Wafu salad, sashimi, seafood, vegetable tempura, steamed Japanese rice
and dessert selection of the day

Matsutake Sukiyaki Hotpot P2,980
Pine mushroom, leek, onion, chinese cabbage, beef rib eye, sukiyaki sauce

Matsutake Nigiri P1,480
Pine mushroom nigiri sushi

It was like Matsutake  2 ways.  The former  being the Matsuyake Sukiyaki and the latter the nigiri. Amazing that I just tasted what was arguably the most expensive mushroom in the world. What did it taste like?  Well it was earthy and meaty.

Check out that price.  A piece of Matsutake Nigiri is P740.

Dessert was coffee panna cotta and  a quenelle of home made chocolate ice cream. Really good.

Overall,   a fantastic Japanese restaurant  you can bring your family or significant other in ,  for that grand celebration or important milestone.

I highly recommend you try their Teishoku Sets  with dishes as low as P680

Sushi and sashimi are a must along with the grilling of seafood items which were amazingly fresh and flown in from the Land of the Rising Sun

Can not wait to try their Sunday Brunch  too with the family.

Do check them out and let me know how it turns out for you.
