Love Italian food? You will love Mamma Mia. Tucked in a corner at the ground floor of Uptown Mall, it is quite easy enough to miss if you are not looking for it.
Owned by an Italian with a Pinay wife, Mamma Mia had been in this location for two years yet most people do not even know it is there which is a pity because they really serve tasty and delicious pasta , pizza and salad.
Last Thursday, we enjoyed the following :
Spaghetti Carbonara Ala Mamma Mia P485 / P1520. Visualize rich classic bacon and egg spaghetti with parmesan cheese, black pepper and pancetta. It was cheesy, bacon(y) and creamy all at once. I just wanted to stuff my face with that pasta and ignore the rest haha
But then the Mamma's Roasted Chicken Whole P720 Half P380 was served and the aroma wafting from that amazing fowl was pretty potent , it drew me like a magnet. Flesh was tender and flavorful, all that was missing were bowls of rice to pair it with
A huge pizza came out after which turned out to be our PIZZA METRO P890.
Omg 1 meter sized pizza with pesto, 6 cheese and Margherita , resembling the colors of the Italian flag. It was humongous and impressive! Easily a conversation starter
Think Crispy Pata with slivers of caramelized and crunchy onions for garnish. Served with gravy on the side.
Polpo con Patate P390 was one of my favorites. Grilled tender octopus with potatoes, arugula and onions tossed with Mamma Mia's very own pesto vinaigrette. Octopus was really flavorful and succulent. Potatoes were delicious. I shall order this again.
Overall, what an enjoyable lunch learning and tasting Mamma Mia's food. I can not wait to return with the handsome hubby and piggery in tow.
Do check them out and let me know how it turned out for you.
Mamma Mia is located at the ground floor Uptown Place mall 36th street corner 9th Avenue Bonifacio Global City Taguig
