Maisen X Bombay Sapphire

Enjoyed the latest flavors from Maisen Shang at the Fort last Friday with select foodies.

To top it all we got to taste several variants of  gin & tonic via Mr. Nino Cruz, Brand Ambassador of Bacardi

It is no secret that as early as  Maisen Shang at the Fort's opening last November 2017, the  very first bar concept  of the restaurant had been alive and kicking at the onset.

This time around with the  collab with Bombay Sapphire, expect 3 variants of  the drink to  refresh you with their very timely fruity and herby gin & tonic.

Thoroughly enjoyed both the Basil & Cucumber and Lychee and Orange variant. I am leaning more towards the Basil drink rather than the second one though

It is a joy watching Mr. Nino  doing his thing and creating such refreshing drinks while munching on bar chows such as edamame and gyoza

Maisen's Latest Creations

Pork Hamburg
Set P410 Ala carte P220
pork minced meat served with demiglace and vegetables

Aburi Cheese Katsuni
Set Tenderloin P510/ Loin P510/ Chicken P490
Ala Carte Tenderloin P340/ Loin P340/ Chicken P325
melted  cheddar, mozzarella on  famous tonkatsu served with a sweet soy based sauce with onions

Maisen Katsu Doria
Set P310 / Ala Carte P260
Traditional tonkatsu served with special curry rice, onions,  cream , cheddar and mozzarella

Among the 3 newest dishes,  what stood out for me was their Aburi Cheese katsuni.  Nothing beats the smell of torched cheese.

Overall,  I loved the bar concept and collab with  Bombay Sapphire. I'm really more of a wine person but Im not  averse to discovering new drinks to try. The Basil Cucumber Gin & Tonic is a must buy. Refreshing and tasty, I can drink the whole glass by myself.  Have I not seen for myself how Bacardi Ambassador Nino crafted the drink, I would have confidently assumed it was a non alcoholic drink. It was a smooth drink with crisp finish.

The new creations of Maisen were all scrumptious. A favorite of course is their Aburi. The hamburg and Katsu Doria are a must try as well.

Definitely returning with the piggery in tow.

Maisen is located at the Shangrila at The Fort garden side.
