We just came from a 6 day Taiwan vacay last week of April. What stood out for me during our trip was the street food. It was our second visit within the span of 6 months. What can I say? We like our first impression of Taiwan. Thus the return trip.
Have cravings from time to time of the food we enjoyed there.
Good thing there is Fat Fook to satisfy our hankering. Saved us the cost of plane ticket.
Last May 6, Fat Fook opened its 6th branch at the second level of Ayala North Exchange at Salcedo Street cor Ayala Avenue Makati.
Apart from that amazing HOT POT BEEF TENDON which reminded me of Raohe Night Market, we also enjoyed 8 other dishes.
I still remember that huge Hot Star Chicken Chop we queued for in Shilin Night Market. That was a humongous chop that was crunchy outside and moist inside. Fat Fook's version P308 was not quite near the original, but tasted delicious nonetheless.
Yes , the quintessential soup dumpling you can find anywhere in Taiwan. Fat Fook's version had the requisite delicate skin with the delicious broth inside.
Mama O's Patatim P368 paired with the mantao was delicious. Pork was tender and flavorful
The West Lake Beef soup was an interesting addition.
Taiwan-style Fried Rice P268 was an all in one meal. It paired well with the chicken chop and the Hot Pot Beef Tendon
Overall,
Price point was reasonable vis a vis the portions or servings. Food were delicious. My favorite was the xlb and the patatim with mantao.
Definitely returning with the piggery in tow.
