Banana Leaf Currry

Went out on an errand with the handsome hubby this morning and found ourselves in Banana Leaf Curry House in Promenade Greenhills.

Its been a while since our last visit. The last branch we had lunch in with what seemed like eons ago  was their branch in Rockwell.

At any rate, this is our first time in this Greenhills branch. I must say we were impressed with its elegant yet simple interior . Think  massive colorful painting as a focal point  and grey wicker chairs.

Handsome hubby and I loved their Laksa and roti.. We have always been fans of Laksa for its strong and rich curry flavored broth and succulent seafood. Banana leaf's version was thick and rich in complex flavors with a bit of a kick which was expected.

The cold Vietnamese coffee was a disappointment though. Called the attention of the server  and pointed out the watered down coffee. She just smiled and did not do anything about it.

The sticky rice mango dessert was also a let down.  We were presented with what looked like a cup of rice with mango on the side and a glob of coconut cream.

Sticky rice was soggy with coconut milk.  It was like eating wet rice.Mango slices were over ripe and had a weird texture.

Overall, the dessert and the drink did not spark any joy haha. Good thing the Laksa and Roti were delicious.

Service was a bit on the slow side.

There is  a rest room inside  the restaurant which is good but its size was miniscule . So manage your expectations.

Will we be returning any time soon ?  Hmm maybe when the craving for Laksa hits us again. But will definitely not order the Vietnamese drink again nor that sticky rice with mango dessert.

Banana Leaf Curry House is located at the ground floor Promenade Greenhills.
