It was Piggingoutonsundays anew and our group of 4 ( from our family of 8 earlier) this time found ourselves in this branch of Pepi Cubano after a haphazard lunch earlier at Tim Ho Wan.
Bunso was supposed to have his fencing tournament in Alabang at 130. We were already having lunch at 1130. Then came a call from the coach that apparently his schedule was moved up an hour earlier.
So we had no choice but to gulp down whatever we can at the shortest time possible and hightailed it to South Super Highway with nary a second to spare.
So when bunso's event finally ended around 230pm , we were all famished. Moreso bunso whose adrenaline must have dipped the highs and the lows during the competition so that whatever litttle food he consumed during lunch was gone
So off to Glorietta we returned, and bunso ,grandma and handsome hubby gorge themselves on the Pan de Bistec P200. While I chose Pepi Cubano's Pan de Guyaba P110 a combo of guava jam and cream cheese which sounded delicious. Porto's comes to mind.
Not much to look at but the combination of salty cream cheese vis a vis the guava jam and the crispy baguette were heaven in my mouth. It was reminiscent of Porto's guava jelly and cream cheese pastry. I shall order this again.
Overall...
Friendly on the pocket.
Delicious filling.
Unusual combo with the guyaba
Freshly baked baguette crisped to perfection.
Almost no waiting time.
Freshly prepared.
What's not to love? Definitely returning with the rest of the piggery. Aiming for their arroz dishes next visit
See you there :)
Pepi Cubano is located at the ground floor of Glorietta beside Paper Moon and near Zara.
