It had been a while since our last visit to Robinsons Galleria
Although it is relatively near the family abode. We somehow always get sidetracked by either SM Megamall or Shangrila Plaza Mall.
Last week , we were privileged to have been invited by Mangan for a Food Tasting Event of their Valentines Day Menu and their best sellers
Its a Perfect Match P999
For only P999 for two Mangan diners get to enjoy the following :
Suam na Tahong
Definitely a steal for lovers who would love to celebrate the day of hearts for the whole month of February. The Suam sa Tahong warms the tummy in preparation for the mains. The mussels and clams were plump and fat and a joy to pop in your mouth.
a choice of Sizzling Chicken or
Crispy Pork Adobo
The mains were simple yet hearty fare. Choose between either the chicken or the pork. Both were satisfying , delicious and filling
Everybody's Lumpia or
Ensaladang Talong
The perfect foil to the fried mains, the ensaladang talong is my choice of side. I loved how the grilled talong with mango and onions cut through the richness of the protein. The downside to this was you will be wishing or ordering more cups of rice.
Everybody's lumpia although delicious on its own was just too much when paired with either chicken or pork. Fried on fried does not really sound appetizing to me.
Two Cups of Rice
Two Watermelon Shake
A refreshing drink, I could just chug gallons of these fruity drink all day long
Tibok Tibok
''Tibok-tibok usually anglicizes as carabao milk pudding, is a Filipino dessert pudding made primarily from carabao milk and ground soaked glutinous rice. It originated from the province of Pampanga. It has a soft jelly-like texture and is topped with latik before serving'' - Wikipedia
My first thought was pannacotta? It looked like pannacotta and jiggled like one but the difference lay in the carabao milk and ground soaked glutinous rice ingredients.
Bestsellers
Classic Bibingka
I loved how freshly made it tasted and felt on my palate. It was fluffy and soft with cheesy and salted egg notes.Do not forget to eat it with the grated dessicated coconut
Palabok
Another classic dish, palabok is a perennial favorite. Mangan's version is traditional through and through. Brought back childhood memories growing up in La Huerta Paranaque
Piniritong Hito at Buro
That burong hipon was the clincher. It married well with that humongous cat fish. I never saw cat fish presented that way ie like a daing na bangus.
Pakbet
Nothing can beat the pakbet- bagnet combination.
Seafood Kare Kare
I loved the kare kare sauce. I prefer the oxtail though instead of the seafood kare kare

Overall...
Mangan for me and the family never grows old. It is always a joy rediscovering and reconnecting with an old favorite.
Perhaps the secret to their success is their consistency and affordability. Whichever branch of the restaurant you find yourself in, you know you will get the same delicious dishes you are craving for without fail every time.
Check it out and let me know how it turns out for you
Mangan is located at Level 2 Robinsons Galleria Ortigas Quezon City
