A Hawaiian word meaning delightful or delicious, this restaurant which just opened sometime in November last year, has a reputation to maintain. Ono is owned by the people behind Cobalabamba, Mazza , Galo etc.
The whole restaurant although rather small, had an aura of spaciousness because of the high ceiling and the cool-as-cucumber color palette. I love how refreshing the monochromatic greens were broken only by the shock of orchid fuschia. Huge wicker lamps served as accessories further enhancing the island feels. Fresh green fronds against the wall and smaller version on top of each table echoed the whole theme.
We were served the following :
Onion rings P145
Aloha wings P275
Ono Hawaiian Burger P290
Ono Burger P230
Huli Huli Chicken P230
Pork belly ribs P310
Cookie Smores P140
Overall...
They certainly lived up to their name. The burgers were unpretentious and straightforward. No fancy schmancy. Considering the price tag and Ono's target market , the portion and the taste were just right.
The beef belly rib's P310 price tag may be a little too much considering the serving. Better order the chicken Huli Huli which is a lot cheaper at P230.
The Cookie smores for dessert is not a bad idea. Hits the spot.
Ono Hawaiaan Burgers & BBQ is locatted at the Ground Floor, Venice Piazza, Mckinley Hill Taguig City
