BOROUGH

The handsome hubby and I had only been to the Big Apple once and we are rarin to go back soon we hope. We have only  been to two of the 5 boroughs specifically Staten Island and Manhattan and would love to go back to  experience Queens, Brooklyn and  The Bronx.

That is why I understand Miko Santos' (owner) fascination with New York and his yearly trip to this  amazing place.

I admire the brothers' desire to share the NY food scene via Borough. Yes 4 brothers and their bosom buddy Jewish American Chef Cuid conceptualize the restaurant.

The original Borough restaurant began at the Podium Mall 8 years ago. Amazing isnt it and  my loss for not having visited it sooner

Currently, the podium branch is under renovation and if negotiation pushes through, will be re-opening in 2019.

In the meantime, while the original branch was more inclined towards the night life, this new branch inn BGC wants to attract families this time . Thus the emphasis on comfort food and all day brunches

Last week, we enjoyed the following best sellers :

Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup P320
There is so much to be said about freshly baked brioche...so good . The tomato soup is not bad either. The long hours of simmering brought out the sweetness of the tomato...scrumptious!

Pulled Pork Sandwich P320
That home made hoagie with the pulled pork is a winner. Must try

Grilled Portobello Burger P430
This is my favorite among all the dishes served together. I just love portobello . Its meaty texture tricks your palate into thinking you are eating something meaty haha

Steak and Eggs P490
Steak tenderloin with two eggs any style and wheat bread. Make sure you advise your server  your preferred doneness . I like mine medium rare

Mediterranean Dip Trio P530

Mom's Milk and cookies P250

Goat cheese and sugar beet salad P340

Overall...

I love that Chef Cuid is a purist.  Brioche tasted amazing because it was made from scratch. Baba ganoush hummus and tzatzika were scrumptious paired with the home made pita because it was built from the ground up. Cakes and cookies were made from the premises.

You get the picture. Everything here in Borough is made by hand. So what's not to love.

Prices and service are not bad either.

Definitely worth a revisit  with the piggery in tow.

Now rarin to book a flight to NY :)

Borough is located at C2 Bonifcio High Street Central 7th venue BGC Taguiug
