Had a fun night with my sorority sisters from UP Diliman days last week. My 'sisses' as we fondly call each other are on vacay from the US of A. One had evolved from a young model to a fierce lawyer in Ohio while the other sis who also previously modeled before became a stewardess for an American airline. It has not been too long since we last saw each other because they make it a point to visit almost every year.
So made a reservation at Barcino Aura for some chika time with these ladies.
Im no stranger to Barcino having a predilection for tapas, paellas, sangrias and their wines. But it was my first time in this branch of theirs in Aura.
It so happened that my sisses also love tapas and wine. So I turned over the ordering to sis Emma while sis Arlen and I catch up. She ordered the following :
Gambas al Ajillo P790
4-5 pcs of huge prawns gone in a flash. We sisses may not look it, but we love our prawns. Those crustaceans were cooked perfectly. They were succulent and flavorful. Love the spicy garlic bits as well. Dont forget to order lots of bread to wipe that garlic-flavored-olive-oil with
We also ordered a bottle of Malbec which we thoroughly enjoyed . Unfortunately it was the last bottle so for our 2nd round of drinks we ordered the Argentinian red wine.
Salpicao Tenderloin P1500
The tenderloin was juicy and delicious but pricey for its serving portion. I suggest you order something else
While sis Arlen and I enjoyed our wine, sis Emma ordered a white Sangria for herself.
Chipirones Encebollados P530
Those grilled baby squids on a bed of caramelized onions were gorgeous, I cant stop myself from eating them huhu,
Tortillas de Camarones P245
Reminiscent of our ukoy, the sisses from the land of milk and honey loved them. Quite expensive and thin though compared to our ukoy but nonethless at par in flavor.
Ensalada con Atun P310
This was the least of my favorite among all dishes ordered. Would have preferrred seared tuna vs those tuna which tasted and looked like it came from a can. sorry
Churros con Chocolate P250
It was no surprise that the churros con chocolate were delicious. They were crunchy as they should be and the chocolate dip was sinfully black and thick as it should be
Overall, a wonderful tapas and wine night spent with my sorority sisters reminiscing our college life and past loves hehe
