I love to discover food in out of the way places. By “out-of-the-way” I mean away from the malls where the restaurants you see are the same in all branches.
Like MY OWN RAMEN for example. It is located at A Mabini Street somewhere in Malate. The name of the restaurant alone gives a clue what to expect.
I love that the resto is almost non-descript. We almost missed it while traversing A Mabini.
The space of the resto is relatively small with a seating capacity of 13. Prospective habitues will sit in stools facing the kitchen with a peep-thru space (for want of a better term) to watch chefs do their magic in preparing our ramen.
The interior is reminiscent of hole in the wall restos in Tsukiji and Kuromon Market that seats 12. My Own Ramen though is a bit more spacious with high ceiling and new , having opened only last month.

We were presented with a lengthwise Omotenashi sheet to customise our ramens with.
The lovely Owner-Chefs-Sisters Mitch and Mikee Yu opened My Own Ramen inspired by their love for Japanese food specifically Ramen.
Note that all their ingredients are made from scratch by Chef Mikee. From the handcrafted noodles, tamago , down to the chili paste, everything was personally concocted by the very young talented and pretty Chef.
I chose rich vs ultra rich, not spicy, extra tamago and extra char siu for my ramen. The tonkotsu broth is delicious. The char siu were tender and flavorful , the noodles firm and the tamago perfect. I had to consciously stop myself frm finishing the bowl because it was really good. The wagyu cubes were juicy and scrumptious as well .
Pricing is very attractive at below P350 per bowl. Wagyu is P100 for 4 pieces.
We had no difficulty parking as there was space for the car just across the resto.
