It was the family's first time in Mighty Quinn's. I understand it is the second branch after SM mega.
Learned an interesting tidbit that helped us understand their fare. Apparently Mighty Quinn's is an international franchise from New York.
The group of Yabu brought it to the Philippines and their first branch is the one in Mega Mall.
We came in the restaurant expecting fall off the bone ribs. This mindset was almost immediately dashed by their knowledgeable head waiter whose face was familiar because we often see him in Yabu.
He explained that ribs in the original branch in New York are not at all fall off the bone and was meant to be eaten with fingers. That helped a lot in quelling my disappointment. So I ditched the knife and fork and picked up the ribs with my fingers as instructed. What do you know, I actually enjoyed eating the ribs this way.
The family's favorite though is the beef brisket which was soft and moist.
Although I was a bit disappointed in our first foray at MQ, I feel we just hit the tip of the ice berg with this one.
I have a pretty good feeling we will be back soon.
