When I do my blog, I always make it a point to ask how a restaurant came up with its name. More often than not, a delightful story is behind it that would be fun to write about.
Apparently according to Ms. Ruby Bautista (Marketing Director RCGI), Mr. Lorenzo's son ( scion of that Mr. Martin Lorenzo of the Pancake house fame) saw a whole street of Frittery ( kiosk deep fried foods) while in a triathlon training in Belgium. He saw what a hit it was on the millenials there and immediately a germ of an idea began to grow and Fritoss was born.
Fritoss is the Pinoy take of what is known as Frittery in Belgium , The concept is the same though. Deep fried foods both savory and sweet that are grab and go or can be eaten sitting down.
Yesterday, we tried the following :
Honey Truffle Wings P210
Deep fried chicken wings in truffle sauce
Salted Egg Wings P210
Deep fried wings in home made salted egg and cream sauce
Fish and Chips P210
Classic crispy beer-battered fish and chips best paired with garlic aioli
Milk Shakes P180
Butter Caramel, Bubble Gum, Strawberry and Liquid Cheesecake
Summary :
All wing variants were succulent , juicy and meaty. They were obviously fresh from the pan. I loved the salted egg wings especially with the garlic aioli. The honey truffle was sweet like barbecue. Looking for a hint of truffle. I did not find any. Their dips were good.
The fish and chips were crunch outside , moist and fluffy inside. For P210, it is definitely a steal.
The milk shakes were a steal too. Delicious and in tall glasses, value for money at P180.
Definitely coming back . Our piggery will love this
